Leilani Grey is a Program Coordinator for the Climate +Energy Project. She is very passionate about the environment, conserving and protecting natural resources, and creating future communities that seek to adopt energy efficiency, and renewable energy strategies.
Leilani received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the School of Sustainability at Arizona State University. She is proud to have graduated from the first University in the United States dedicated to sustainability. During her time at Arizona State, Leilani studied a broad spectrum of global challenges including energy, materials, and technology; water quality and scarcity; international development; ecosystems; social transformations; food and food systems; and policy and governance.
In 2017, Leilani was an intern at The Phoenix Public Market, a local farmers market in Phoenix, AZ. During her internship, she developed and implemented a sustainable infrastructure, enhanced the connection of the community with their local food system, conducted outreach about the benefits of eating seasonal and local foods and supporting local businesses, and provided solutions based on local needs. Leilani relocated from Scottsdale, Arizona to Topeka to be closer to family in May 2018.
Outside of CEP, Leilani enjoys exploring Kansas and the Midwest, camping and backpacking, supporting local businesses, upcycling, cooking, fabric arts, playing soccer, and watching competitive sports.
