Evergy is proposing a new electricity rate for residential solar customers, that adds a monthly grid access fee of $3.00 per kW of solar. If this isn’t acceptable to the Commission, Evergy’s alternative proposal is a minimum bill of $35 for all residential customers, including those without solar.
Both proposals are unfair to Kansan families that want to invest in a clean energy future and exercise their right to choose where they get their electricity. We need to make solar more affordable, not less.
